Field Illustration

Field illustration is a major component of natural history illustration. In Natural History Illustration we have four consecutive subjects that focus exclusively on field illustration. These involved going out into the field, be it a forest, wetland, rock platform or even a zoo, and observing the local organisms. The importance of field illustration comes from the sheer amount of information it can provide about the organisms behaviour and habitat, which can't be provided by stuffed taxiderms. Work here includes both what is done in the field, as well as what is completed from work done in the field.
